Some news from our neighbours the Belgians: Over the last weekend, burglars in used a ladder to climb onto the roof of a warehouse in Willebroek, close to Brussels, cut a hole in the roof and stole 3.000-4.000 iPhones of a total sales worth of 2,5 million Euros.
This crime is believed to be the largest iPhone heist to date. Considered an inside job, the hole in the roof was made directly over where the iPhones were located, suggesting that the thieves had prior knowledge of where the iPhones were stored.
The warehouse is American owned and was holding iPhones to be transferred to Mobistar, Appleâs exclusive Belgian carrier. âWe have had the serial numbers of the stolen iPhones blocked so they cannot be used,â said Verdoodt.
Belgium, just like Luxembourg, is one of only three countries in Europe that sells iPhones without a SIM-lock.
