The iPhone and its Google Maps application are a great piece of technology, but don’t we nevertheless find ourselves printing directions from Google when in a hurry. Why? Because there wasn't a fast way to get those address and maps to our iPhone. So I would like to introduce iPhonesender to you.
First of all I must tell you that this solution only works with Safari and Firefox. I have decided to present the Safari method which is very similar to the Firefox one. At the end of this article I shall explain in a couple of words what the differences between the two versions. And of course you have to be able to read your mails on your iPhone.
Simply go to www.iPhoneSender.com and decide with which browser you wish to use iPhonesender.

You may of course also use both. As in my case you decide for Safari, simply drag the Safari bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar. Then highlight an address on any web page (I chose the address of the Apple headquarters), and click the bookmarklet in your bookmarks bar.You can click following image to enlarge.
iPhoneSender prompts you for your email address. Enter your email address and confirm by clicking OK.

Then iPhoneSender sends a properly formatted Google map link to your mailaccount.

That's it! Then, check your email on your iPhone and click the link.

The iPhoneSender link will launch the Google Map application for you from which you can get directions, or add the address directly to your address book.

Now to the difference between the Safari and the Firefox version: The Firefox version is a little software extension you have to install. After installation, you can simply visit a website that contains an address that you wish to send to your iPhone, right-click and select "Send Map Link to iPhone". For the rest it's the same as explained above for Safari.
I do hope that with this little piece of advice I have made life a bit easier for some of you true iPhone lovers out there!
